The Divine Swing Festival

Jhulan Yatra (Swing Festival) is a beautiful five-day festival celebrated during the monsoon season in the month of Shravan (July/August). During this festival, deities of Radha and Krishna are placed on elaborately decorated swings in temples across Vrindavan and the entire Braj region.

Celebrations in Vrindavan

Every temple in Vrindavan participates in Jhulan Yatra. The swings are decorated with fragrant flowers, colorful fabrics, and intricate ornaments. Devotees take turns gently swinging the divine couple while singing devotional songs describing the Raas Leela.

The Banke Bihari Temple, Radha Raman Temple, and ISKCON Temple have particularly famous Jhulan celebrations. The Banke Bihari Temple's Phool Bangla (flower house) during this period is legendary.
