Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple Complex marks the exact birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India and the spiritual heart of Braj.

The complex includes the Garbha Griha (prison cell where Krishna was born), Keshav Dev Temple, and Bhagavata Bhavan. Security is strict, and photography is not allowed.

History

The original temple is believed to have been built by Vajranabha, Krishna's great-grandson. The temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over centuries. The present structure was developed in the 20th century.
