The Sacred Full Moon of Kartik

Deep Daan - Festival of Lamps
The most spectacular sight during Kartik Purnima is the Deep Daan (lamp offering) at the ghats of Yamuna River. Millions of earthen lamps are floated on the river, creating a mesmerizing river of light. Vishram Ghat in Mathura and Keshi Ghat in Vrindavan are the main centers of this celebration.
Devotees take holy dips in the Yamuna, offer prayers, and participate in grand aarti ceremonies. The entire month of Kartik is considered sacred, with devotees observing daily Yamuna aarti and visiting temples.
