History & Significance
Agra Fort, also known as the Red Fort of Agra, was the main residence of the Mughal emperors until 1638. Built primarily by Akbar starting in 1565, the fort complex contains palaces, audience halls, and mosques.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
