History & Significance
Govind Dev Temple was built in 1590 by Raja Man Singh of Amber. Originally seven stories tall, it was partially destroyed by Aurangzeb and now stands at four stories. It is considered one of the finest examples of Hindu temple architecture.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
