History & Significance
Lohagarh Fort, built by Maharaja Suraj Mal in the 18th century, was named the Iron Fort because it withstood multiple British attacks. The fort is surrounded by deep moats and has the impressive Ashtadhatu (eight-metal) gate.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
