History & Significance
Mukharvind marks the spot considered to be the face of Govardhan Hill. This is one of the most important stops on the Govardhan Parikrama. Devotees offer prayers and circumambulate the sacred stone believed to be the mouth of Giri Raj.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
