History & Significance
Potara Kund is located near the Krishna Janmabhoomi. 'Potara' means baby clothes — this is where the infant Krishna's garments were washed. The kund is considered sacred and pilgrims take a dip here.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
