History & Significance
Shyam Kund was created by Krishna after he killed the demon Aristasura. Radha told Krishna he had incurred sin by killing a bull, so he struck the ground and all holy rivers flowed into Shyam Kund to purify him.
Visiting Rules & Guidelines
- Mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises.
- Remove shoes before entering the temple.
- Dress modestly — avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing clothing.
- Leather items (belts, bags) may not be allowed inside.
- Follow the queue system and maintain decorum.
- Peak hours (morning opening and evening aarti) are the most crowded. Plan accordingly.
