About Radha Rani Temple
Radha Rani Temple (also known as Shriji Temple or Ladli Ji Temple) is the most important temple in Barsana, perched majestically atop Bhanugarh Hill. This temple is one of the few temples in India dedicated primarily to Radha Rani, the eternal consort of Lord Krishna.
The temple offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Braj countryside. The main deity is Radha Rani, beautifully adorned with jewels and flowers. The temple architecture features typical Rajput-style construction with red sandstone and intricate carvings.
The temple is the epicenter of the famous Lathmar Holi celebrations and attracts thousands of devotees, especially during Radhashtami and Holi festivals.
History
The Radha Rani Temple was built by Raja Bir Singh Deo of Orchha in the 16th century. It sits on Bhanugarh Hill, believed to be the hill of King Vrishabhanu, Radha's father. The temple has been renovated multiple times over the centuries while maintaining its original architectural charm.
